i shot a fawn::My fellow italiano mike hunted with me in a ground blind until midmorning when he could cross the field without spooking deer.
The plan seemed to work.
Before noon a group of five does passed through, and he shot a very large doe.
She only traveled about 60 yards but did not drop one speck of blood.
Reggie dragged her back to the trail like he was pulling one of his young sons in a sled, no problem.
It is good to have the young and strong in camp.
The rest of the crew had similar deer sightings but no shots fired.
The wind switched out of the northwest.
Wild turkeys are well established south near park rapids but we have not seen one near our camp until now.
As of november 11, our total anterless harvest stands at 10.
I would say the camp is doing its part for population management.
I headed home and nearly got my buck east of cass lake with my truck.
To further add insult a doe trotted by my truck, as i was less than a block from my house.
Got a call this afternoon from mike.
I call that persistence.
